New world armor weight
New World Equip Load System
The Equipment Load system in New World defines your character as light, medium or heavy based on their equipped armor weight and then gives you bonuses based on that type.
For example, with mostly light pieces of armor equipped and perhaps one medium piece, your build will fall into the light Equip Load category.
Each category of Equipment Load in New World provides different benefits and drawbacks:
Light
– grants you 20% increased damage, 30% increased healing, and gives you the best form of dodge possible: the roll dodge.
Medium
– grants you 10% bonus damage, 15% bonus healing, as well as a 10% bonus to crowd control durations and turns your dodge into a quick hop instead of a roll.
Heavy
– grants no bonus damage or healing, but does offer a 15% bonus to block and a 20% longer duration to crowd control effects. Heavy builds have the weakest type of dodge in the game which is a basic sidestep.
Your character’s Equip Load is based on the combined weight of your equipped armor and shield.
Light Range: 0-13 total weight
Medium Range: 13-23 total weight
Heavy Range: 23-50 total weight

The New World Equip Loads system involves the sum of all your armor weight. This sum determines which bonuses you will receive from the Equip Weight system. In this New World guide, we will go through the weight of each piece of armor.
Benefits of each Equip Load
Before we look at the best way to optimize mitigation for each equip load, let’s look at the benefits of each of the 3 equip loads. Below is a chart that summarizes what you’ll earn while in each equip load.

Heavy armor also has increased threat generation from taunting gems and perks to account for the decrease in damage output.
The amount of Mitigation you’ll earn from each equip load varies depending on damage types and the type of armor you’re wearing.

Weight
in New World is a mechanic that determines not only the amount of items and Equipment that you can carry, but also allows or limits certain abilities. This is important to take into account as not paying attention to the amount of weight you are currently carrying, may have an important effect on your playstyle.
All items have a

value, and this value is displayed alongside the weight icon.

Weight Armor Guide for New World
New World categorizes your character based on the Armor your character is wearing, into Light, Medium, or Heavy. These categorizations gran different bonuses base on the type you fall into. Note that you don't have to wear only Light Armor to fall into the Light category, you may mix a Medium Armor piece and still fall into Light Armor category.
The game calculates this total number by addin
Player coming back after a long break. Why was all armor balance completely removed? 80% of gear became useless. Only 1 build viable
When I played before, selecting your armor type was extremely important. Heavy made you run slower, roll slower, react slower, and drain more stamina, but you were tanky and could absorb a lot of damage. Light armor made you fast and agile, but super soft. Medium was a balanced choice. It wasn’t perfect and needed some tinkering, but it allowed for interesting and varied builds, and PVP battles had some flow to it.
Now fast forward to AoW3. I did some testing today and it seems that medium and light armor are completely useless. There’s pretty much zero difference in stamina regeneration, zero difference in stamina consumption, and zero difference in speed and reaction time. Heavy armor can give 80% damage mitigation with zero cons, aside from carry weight, which still falls in the green/yellow zone with no consequences. For PVP it’s simply stupid to wear anything else.
This drags many more issues behind it. There’s only one viable PVP build now, which is 3 top skill lines - Strength, Agility, Vitality. All in exactly same setup. Not only th
