The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
When the four Pevensie children are sent to the country to live with an eccentric professor to escape the bombings in England, little do they know what incredible adventures await. A mysterious wardrobe gives them access to the magical world of Narnia, where the evil White Witch rules, keeping the land in a constant winter. With the sacrifice and help of the great lion Aslan, the four Pevensies fight to banish the White Witch and break her hold over the land of Narnia.

The play may be the thing, but often so is the place — which means for any avid theatergoer that whenever a new performance space opens, it’s worth checking out.
Back in December 2017, I reviewed a touring production of the musical
Amazing Grace
when it inaugurated the Museum of the Bible’s handsome new World Stage Theater, and I recall being as impressed by the venue as I was by the performance. “A gorgeous production of a glorious musical in a grand new DC theater,” I wrote. “What’s not to love?”
Among the theater-fan-friendly features of the space are its sleek interior, exceptional acoustics and sound system, congenial intimacy (just 476 seats), and stunning fifth-floor lobby view overlooking Southwest DC. But except for a shortened remount of
Amazing
Grace
that played there in 2019, the World Stage Theater has seen no more actual live theater production. Until now.
Opening Friday, January 20, is
The Horse and His Boy,
an original stage adaption of the C.S. Lewis classic allegory with music and life-size animal puppets. The production was created by The Logos Theatre, a performing arts ministry based in Taylors, South Carolina.

The event was more than a show. It was a time of worship and reflection upon the gospel. The lyrics reflected the brokenness of our world, the great sorrow that it brings, and the great work that has been done to redeem and restore mankind to a right relationship with God through the sacrificial work of Jesus. But Andrew brought home that the resurrection was not the end, but that Jesus will return and make all things new. "Does the Savior really love us. He does."

Abolutely phenomenal concert and a great venue. Andrew is a great performer and story teller. I happened to find him 2 years ago when looking for someone to see in Nashville. Two years later (including 2 trips to Nashville for his Easter Monday show), we are hooked. His concert at the Museum of the Bible was our 5th concert in 2 years to see him perform. Outstanding and amazing experience. The World Stage Theater was perfect and provided the intimate atmosphere for such an important and meaningful concert. Looking forward to visiting again!!
I never got tickets. I would’ve loved to though! Mr. Tomlin is anointed!
