Mediacom awards $1,000 scholarship to Brookings High School senior


BROOKINGS — Mediacom Communications announced the selection of Ernest Ting, a senior at Brookings High School, as a recipient of the company’s World Class Scholarship Program. The $1,000 scholarship recognizes the Brookings resident for excellence in leadership and academics.

“Mediacom understands the importance of investing in future leaders like Ernest Ting,” said Mediacom Area Operations Director Jeff Anfinson. “I’m proud that our company annually commits financial support to talented local students with the Mediacom World Class Scholarship Program. We congratulate all Class of ’25 graduates, and particularly celebrate Ernest for his outstanding achievements so far.”

Mediacom Communications is offering $60,000 in scholarship support for high school seniors who plan to obtain further education. The scholarship program is in its 24th consecutive year and Mediacom’s investment will award $1,000 World Class Scholarships to 60 high school seniors.  



Starting in the fall of 2025, scholarship recipients have the flexibility to use the financial awards to support post-secondary college costs or vocational training from an accredited institution. Award selection is based on academic achievement and leadership accomplishments.



This year, Mediacom’s World Class Scholarship application process has fully transitioned online: mediacomworldclass.com. Applications, including recommendation letters and high school transcripts, will now be submitted online. High school officials are asked to encourage seniors to submit online applications before the March 14, 2025 deadline.

HAIRA – Mediacom Communications announced the selection of Abby

Heruska, a senior at Lowndes High School, as a recipient of the company’s World Class Scholarship Program. The $1,000 scholarship recognizes the Hahira resident for excellence in leadership and academics.

The Mediacom World Class Scholarship is open to high school seniors in Mediacom-serviced areas. Students planning to enroll in or be accepted in a college or university to pursue a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree are encouraged to apply.
