The two Colorado players who earned their cards for the DP World Tour 2025 season in grueling Q-School competition last month in Spain both have opted to cancel their efforts to play on the Korn Ferry Tour next year and focus on DP World Tour events.
Davis Bryant of Aurora and Dan Erickson, whose family lives in Berthoud, both have withdrawn from the second stage of qualifying process for the Korn Ferry Tour’s Q-Schools. Those tournaments are scheduled to be played this weekend, with the top finishers moving ahead to Korn Ferry Q-School finals Dec. 12 to 15.
Bryant announced Monday that he had withdrawn from that process and is traveling immediately to South Africa to begin DP World Tour play. Erickson had previously announced he was also choosing to play 2025 on the DP World Tour.
The DP World Tour is less lucrative than the PGA Tour and requires more travel for U.S.-based players, but top finishers still can make millions each year and earn car

To borrow a song title from Steppenwolf, the magic carpet ride Davis Bryant has been on the last several months hit heights previously unseen on Thursday as the Aurora resident not only earned a 2024-25 DP World Tour card, but nearly won the final stage of qualifying.
The former Colorado State University golfer capped his magical ride to exempt status on the European-based tour by closing with a bogey-free 9-under-par 62 on Thursday to place third in the 156-man field in Tarragona, Spain. Besides securing a spot on the DPWT, Davis earned 9,500 euros (just over $10,000) for the showing.
Davis Bryant was understandably all smiles on Thursday.
“I am beyond thrilled and excited to see my success this week and earn my DP World Tour Card for next season,” Bryant said in a text to Colorado Golf Journal on Thursday. “To have a little taste of success this summer and
A year ago in Morocco, Davis Bryant turned a birdie into a stack of cash that ignited his PGA Tour dreams.
Bryant made his international debut at an Asian Tour tournament there. Heading into the final hole on Friday and needing a birdie to get to the weekend, Bryant sank a 10-foot putt to make the cut.
The Aurora native and Eaglecrest alum only finished tied for 55th in Morocco, earning him about $8,000. But the confidence he gained from that tournament was a catalyst. The week after Morocco, he notched his first pro victory at the Wyoming Open to claim $10,000. His sizzling summer continued with a win in a playoff at the Inspirato Colorado Open, netting him $100,000, and then another win at the Platte Valley Pro-Am for $10,000.
All of that sent Bryant into DP World Tour Qualifying School with the wind at his back, and paved the way to Bryant’s PGA Tour debut on Thursday at the ISCO Championship in Louisville, Ky.
“Morocco gave me the belief I could play at a higher level, and I could hang with any of those guys on major world tours,” Bryant recalled. “And it propelled me into the rest of last summer.

Winning the Inspirato Colorado Open last year was a dream come true for Davis Bryant and the $100,000 winner's check wasn't bad either. It gave the former Colorado State University golfer the financial flexibility to try to take his game to a much bigger level.
"I played a bunch of mini-tour events last year and got some experience," said Bryant, who lives in Aurora. "I was fortunate to have some good success towards the end of the summer and then just wanted to give myself a chance to play at a higher level."
So Bryant bolted to Europe where he fired a final round 62 in qualifying school, finishing third overall and earning his tour card on the DP World Tour.
"The 62 with no bogeys, 9 birdies, it was flawless," Bryant recalled. "I still kind of get the chills and smile when I think about that round of golf. It was remarkable."
And so began Bryant's worldwide golfing tour. It has taken the 25-year old to Mauritius, South Africa, Qatar, Kenya, India, the UAE, China, Turkey, Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands, Italy and Germany.
CBS Colorado's Eric Christensen asked Bryant what his favorite country on the tour has been.
"Turkey was pretty sweet," Bry
